Waterfowls’ Snack Maze is an interactive installation designed for waterfowl in Prospect Park, New York.

In urban parks, feeding waterfowl is a common but often misunderstood behavior. Visitors frequently offer bread or processed food, which can lead to malnutrition, illness, and environmental imbalance. At the same time, the ecological impact of feeding is not immediately visible, making it difficult for people to recognize the consequences of their actions.

Responding to this condition, the project transforms ecological education into a playful and engaging experience. Through a simple maze game, visitors guide a bird through different food choices, learning what is safe through interaction rather than instruction.

By making invisible ecological impact visible through play, the design encourages more intuitive and responsible interaction between people and urban wildlife.
